The 2019 Chevy Trax is constructed on the Gamma II platform sharing it with the Aveo and the Buick Encore. A turbocharged 1.4 L I4 capable of 138 hp is the sole engine. Working in cooperation with a 6-speed automatic, the engine delivers decent performance and acceleration and returns notable 28 mpg. Both front-wheel and all-wheel drive variants of the Trax are available. The latter comes with disc brakes on all wheels, while FWD models employ drum brakes in the rear. Three grades are offered, being LS, LT and Premier. The base configuration features a solid amount of standard equipment that includes automatic headlights, 16” steel wheels, keyless entry, power-adjustable side mirrors, and rearview camera. The list of interior features is long as well and contains cloth upholstery, air conditioning, tilt-and-telescoping steering, MyLink infotainment system, OnStar communications, power lumbar adjustment on the driver seat, Bluetooth, smartphone integration, 6-speaker audio system, 2 USB ports, and a 7” touchscreen.
