The Ford Expedition is every inch a traditional full-size SUV. Its body-on-frame architecture makes it tough as nails and good for towing. This behemoth of an SUV has a massive space for people and cargo while being big on style and tech. Its powertrain is rather responsive, and aluminum body panels help reduce weight. Given the Expedition underwent a major revamp for 2018, not much is changed this year. The big news is the return of the King Ranch edition which slots between the Limited and Platinum. Trim levels offer decent equipment and features, but regardless of which you choose, there might always be something missed or incomplete. There are a multitude of 2020 Ford Expedition accessories and parts in the market for those who want to make their vehicle ready for anything while remaining comfortable – whether it's trailering, occasional off-roading, or family hauling.
Even the base 7-seat XLT trim level of the 2020 Expedition offers such features as 3-zone climate control, power-operated equipment (including a driver's seat and third-row seating), a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and plenty of USB ports. The Limited adds premium perks like leather interior with a heated steering wheel and heated/cooled seats in front, power tailgate, and parking assistance. Out of all the latest active safety features, only blind spot monitoring is offered in the Limited; other systems cost extra or are available with more expensive packages. Next up the model ladder is the new King Ranch, available in both the standard-wheelbase Expedition and the longer Expedition Max. Here is where the Ford Co-Pilot 360 safety suite is offered. Owners will also benefit from LED lighting, a panoramic roof, the infotainment system that comes complete with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and upgraded parking assistance. Topping the lineup is the Platinum with its luxurious interior trimmed with wood, chrome, and stitched leather, and of course, impressive technologies including a surround-view camera. To add more capability, comfort, and standout styling, there are a variety of 2020 Ford Expedition parts and accessories offered.
Power comes from a turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that offers two output levels. All trims except the Platinum get its 375-hp, 470 lb-ft version, while the range-topping model is capable of 400 hp and 480 lb-ft. That's a massive output even for a big rig like the Expedition, so Ford fitted it with its F-150-sourced 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission developed in partnership with GM, which makes good use of engine power. The Expedition’s body-on-frame architecture makes it suitable for taking the roads less traveled, and its off-pavement capability can further be enhanced with the contents of the FX4 off-road package. Available for the Limited trim of both the regular Expedition and long-wheelbase Max, the pack adds all-terrain rubber, off-road shocks, and a bevy of skid plates.
Want to make your 2020 Ford Expedition one of a kind, keep it running at its peak, or turn it into a high-powered beast? Our vast selection of premium accessories and parts ticks all the boxes.
