Introduced in 2016, the Porsche 718 Cayman was created to deliver the same driving excitement as many famous supercars for less money. The model's design was inspired by the legendary Porsche 718 that successfully participated in a number of championships in the 1ate 1950s. The strengths of the classic model were excellent maneuverability and light weight; that car outperformed even more powerful competitors with larger motors. The 2021 Cayman has no rear seats and is lighter and shorter than the 911 Carrera. If you like two-seaters, this automobile is definitely worth your attention; it's available in several versions and can easily be customized with our 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman accessories and parts.
Both the Cayman and its convertible sibling, the Boxster, were specifically developed with a mid-engine layout, which allowed the engineers at Porsche to achieve an almost ideal weight distribution. A well-tuned, sporty suspension and powerful motor provide impressive agility and brilliant handling, allowing the driver to perfectly feel the car. For the 2021 model year, the company introduced the new Cayman GTS 4.0. Unlike the standard model with a turbocharged 2.0L H4, the new GTS received a naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six – the same engine found in the more expensive 718 GT4 and Spyder.
In terms of performance, these two- and four-liter motors develop 300 and 394 hp, respectively, and can be mated to a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic dual-clutch transmission. But truth be told, the H6 installed in the GT4 and Spyder is rated at 414 hp, and its maximum revs are higher – 8000 RPM, which makes these autos slightly quicker. Meanwhile, the Cayman GTS boasts rich standard equipment such as a sport exhaust, stability management system, electronically controlled active dampening, and the Sport Chrono package that includes a stopwatch, a torque-vectoring limited-slip differential, and some other performance-oriented parts and accessories.
The Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system is offered as an option. However, the German automaker has made standard some other features that were optional before. They include heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, mirrors with auto-dimming function and rain sensors, bi-xenon headlights, and Apple CarPlay. Android Auto is still not supported. Meanwhile, the modern aftermarket greatly expands the opportunities for customization offering a huge list of 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman parts and accessories. Many of them can be ordered in our online store, so you will be able to adapt your coupe to your liking in the most ideal way.
