A lot of Akrapovič exhaust systems for hot-rods and production vehicles are developed by the same talented designers and engineers who work with numerous championship-winning teams. All Akrapovič products are tested in its own laboratories using highly advanced dynamometers to ensure each driver will experience the same adrenaline and joy as professional racers, as well as a bunch of power.
Every newly developed Akrapovič exhaust system begins its life as a prototype. The process of developing a new prototype starts with a 3D scan of the vehicle's underbody to determine the boundaries of the space provided. This helps to optimize the exhaust system layout to ensure an excellent fit of the product. In the following steps, the exhaust system undergoes a number of improvements to provide better sound and faster acceleration. Along with scrupulous attention to the design and construction of a new exhaust, Akrapovič pays a lot of attention to the quality of materials it is made from. The company uses premium materials like titanium, stainless steel, and aluminum to make its exhausts withstand extremely hot gases produced by high-performance engines.
Many professional racers believe that a high-quality exhaust system should not only allow an engine to perform at full throttle but also provide a perfect sound. To make that happen Akrapovič's team of skilled engineers spends countless hours looking for that perfect sound. On one hand, it must not exceed the allowed noise levels, yet to be deep and powerful. On the other hand, it should be unique to be recognized among others on the road. At Akrapovič, that harmony is achieved by means of special sound measurement techniques and equipment which allow the company's engineers to measure and analyze the tailpipe and cabin exhaust sound. Based on the results, they can calculate and design proper acoustic elements to make the exhaust system sound in the best possible way.
