LED Underbody Lights

LED Underbody Lights

Make your vehicle look like a movie star! You’ve seen how great underbody lights look on the big screen, now you can get the same eye-catching underbody glow for your car or truck, and even for your motorcycle, ATV, UTV (side-by-side), golf cart or boat trailer. We offer easy to install light kits that can illuminate the underbody, wheel wells, the barrels of rims, and other areas, in single colors or in millions of shades and color changing patterns. This mesmerizing display can be operated by a wired switch mounted inside your vehicle, wireless remote, or on some kits, from an app on your smartphone. While these lights are a head-turning attraction on their own, they’re also an ideal way to light up and show off custom wheels, performance brakes, suspension work, and other mods.

These lights are weatherproof and specifically designed with the durability needed to deliver brilliant light in the harsh undercar environment. The key to their reliability is with the LEDs chips that supply the dazzling illumination, and the sturdy tubes, pods or flexible strips they’re encased in. Unlike some types of underbody lights that can be fragile, LEDs are impervious to shock and vibration, so they’re perfect for off-road going trucks, SUVs, ATVs and UTVs as well as cars traversing pothole-strewn city streets. Plus, they’re much more efficient than other light sources and don’t need to draw a lot of power to create a prodigious amount of light. And the LED light housings, especially those intended for off-road use, are designed to withstand abuse from rocks and debris.

LED underbody light kits consist of tubes, flexible light strips, or light pods, a control module, and mounting hardware. Some kits can contain two or even all three types of LED lights, and some kits may include lights for the interior as well. Our selection includes kits with various quantities of tubes, strips and/or pods, with tubes and strips in a wide range of lengths, so you can get the kit that best fits your needs. Lights can be mounted to the vehicle frame, rocker panels or any other suitable undercarriage location. The control module is generally not waterproof and should be mounted in a clean, dry location like the vehicle interior. Flexible strips are used in LED wheel well kits and LED wheel rings attach to the brake rotor dust shield around the disc brake rotor.

While light tubes and strips are generally best for creating that underbody light show, light pods can be an excellent choice to illuminate and draw attention to underbody details like heavy-duty suspensions, drilled & slotted brake rotors and multi-piston calipers, trick shocks and beefed up drive axles on lifted trucks. Rock lights are a form of pod lights that were originally developed to help off-roaders better see the ground around their vehicles, so they can safely navigate over rough terrain. They’re great for that purpose but since many can be had in a selection of colors or with color changing capabilities they can also be used for much more. We offer kits that include flat as well as curved pod mounts, so you can also easily mount them to curved surfaces like tubular accessories.

In addition to our many LED underbody light kits for car, trucks, and SUVs, we also offer kits designed specifically to accommodate the unique space requirements of motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs and even golf carts. The tubes, light strips, and/or pods in these kits are compact to fit in tight spaces behind air cleaners and under gas tanks and fenders, yet bright enough to provide the degree of illumination you want to perfectly highlight your machine. You’ll not only be able to cast a crowd-drawing glow on the ground underneath your ride, but also emphasize custom work and equipment. For example, if you’ve got a lot invested in chrome, there’s no better way to show it off than with brilliant reflected LED light, in color or with color changing effects.

Along with head turning looks, LED accessory lighting can have practical applications too. Like Jeeps and other 4x4s, ATVs and UTVs can benefit from rock lights that illuminate the ground, enabling the operator to plot a safe course over an irregular landscape. Our LED whips can also be a safety aid, identifying your off-roader and warning others of your presence in the darkness when riding in hilly terrain. And if you enjoy night time boating, you’ll definitely want our boat trailer docking LED light kit. It features LEDs in waterproof tubes that mount to your trailer, creating landing lights and a veritable marine runway to guide your boat into place. Both these accessories feature multicolor capability with wireless remote control.

In addition to the above-mentioned features, some LED underbody kits include additional features or ones that may be optional including integration with the vehicle alarm system, and the capability to have underbody lights blink with turn signals and turn red when the brakes are applied. Wireless remote operation is included or optional for most kits via dedicated control pad, which may be in the form of a key fob, or through a smartphone app. While exact capabilities vary according to brand and system, in general you can change colors; choose preset or custom color changing patterns and themes; and strobe, scan and pulse lights to music picked up by a microphone or from the phone. Some controllers allow you to divide lights into zones, and have different colors and patterns in each zone.
