What started as an online gathering of classic Pontiac fans and car restoration enthusiasts called Performance Years Forums transformed into a successful manufacturing and wholesale business. In 1983, Chris Casperson decided to sell Pontiac parts by mailing catalogs, receiving orders, and sending products the same way. Over the years, the company delivered rare Pontiac parts for hundreds of customers around the world transforming into a true mail-order catalog giant. Today, the PY Online Forums is the ultimate destination for Pontiac owners.

Starting in 1991, following the common trend on the market, the company went producing and marketing trading cards under the Musclecards brand name. Now, most of these cards are sought-after rarities. Continuing to grow, the enterprise opened its lock and keys division in 1993 fulfilling the market’s demand for high-quality replacements. With the turn of the millennium, there was some shift in classic car owners’ typical behavior. Now, instead of simply displaying their vehicles on car shows and gatherings, they tend to modify them to make them more powerful, reliable, and safe for driving. Aftermarket exhaust system fitment problems were some of the most common complaints of classic car owners, so reacting to changes in the market, in 2001, Chris established a new enterprise which eventually became the Max Performance Exhaust division (Pypes at the time).

In 2009, Performance Years and Pypes moved into a large facility in Hartfield, Pennsylvania. Three years later, the company’s Classic Locks division absorbed Pat’s Corvette Locks, one of the largest suppliers of locks for this make in the country. Now the company can supply locks for all GM, Mopar, Ford, and Corvette vehicles. In February 2015, Performance Years changed its corporate name and now operates as Max Performance Inc focusing on supplying large dealers with high-quality, innovative reproduction parts for classic cars.
