Morimoto was able to pack the serious beam pattern from the Mini D2S 5.0 into a Mini H1-sized box with the release of the new Micro D2S 5.0. keeping the best of both worlds. Years of projector design experience have resulted in the Morimoto team creating a well-spread beam pattern with a natural gradient of intensity down to the foreground, and the high beam is difficult to match. The new projector lens can even outperform its older and larger analog thanks to its advanced EvoX-R design. The blue tint on the lens is much more than just an appearance feature. It is an anti-reflective coating that reduces bleed while increasing the amount of light that passes through the glass. It provides up to 10% less glare.
The X5-R LED is a full-size projector shroud that was designed to look like traditional BMW LED headlight halos. These shrouds provide exceptional coverage, have switchback LEDs built in, and have a stylish, modern look. We can assure you that not all shrouds were created equal. Morimoto manufactures its product out of the highest quality plastic and has by far the most durable chrome finishes. Less expensive versions can warp under the heat of a 35W HID bulb and will never look or perform as well as Morimoto projector shrouds. With these parts installed, there is no need for any additional LED halos or accent lighting because they incorporate acrylic halos with a Type II White/Amber Switchback LED circuit built into them.
