Sweet Manufacturing was founded in 1978 with the main goal of offering racecar drivers steering components and systems which would give them considerable advantages in performance. All of the company’s products are designed and manufactured with extensive knowledge that the company’s founder Randy Sweet gained during his 50-plus years in racing as well as hands-on experience from some of the top drivers, engineers, and chassis builders in the U.S.
The company was started from Randy Sweet's intention to share his knowledge and advancements that he acquired from his hard work with fellow racers. To prove that his components and systems could withstand harsh handling, Randy built his original "Rocket Car". In 1984, he got a 2,200 lb stock auto and placed a plastic wall on one of its sides, while applying other aerodynamic enhancements and setting out to break existing track records all over the country. In the very end, Randy Sweet achieved five track records while racing on five different-size tracks.
He continued his career for over three decades, while winning every kind of trophy from Asphalt Sprint to Super Modified. Randy kept on working with some of the finest racecar drivers in the U.S., so as to improve each and every Sweet Manufacturing product. Considering his background, racing experience, and desire to win, all Sweet Manufacturing components and systems are made to outperform the competition. Today, the company’s product line includes a variety of steering wheels, steering gear boxes, steering pumps, and many other components that are sure to make your steering system perform at its peak.
